Welcome to Mrs Chatburn's History Inquiry Learning Assignment!
Firstly, read the Inquiry Learning Explanation (see above tab). Then read the Background Briefing! It will give you lots of information.
Finally, Head to the 'Assignment' page to begin your quest....
Keep in mind you will need to know your information well enough for you to complete an assignment and a test.
I am particularly looking for higher order thinking skills (your conclusions, why you think that, the evidence you have to support your theories...)
You have all of Term One and two weeks of holidays if you choose to use them to complete this assignment. You will learn the content during the hour a week you have with me in Inquiry Learning. This means that you will need to complete your assignment as homework. It would be fantastic if you could transfer what you learn during class with me to
your assignment during homework each week.
The assignment can be presented in any way you wish (eg. a website, Prezi, PowerPoint, poster, booklet, mobile, diorama, filmed documentary, filmed re-enactment, in 3D, etc…I encourage you to use your green hat thinking and be creative!). I expect the you to have the assignment complete and to have finished it to the best of your ability by the due date.
The more effort, information and thought that are put into the assignment, the better the assessment grade could potentially be. I particularly want the you to question the history you are learning about…I am looking for you to develop your higher order thinking skills to draw conclusions by using evidence to support your theories, opinions, claims and information.
You will need to know your information well enough for to complete a test as well as your assignment.
Good luck!
Your assessment is due:
The start of your lesson with me
Week 1 of Term 2.
Please see me if you are having trouble with this assignment. This is YOUR responsibility.
